According to several studies, stress and anxiety levels are increasing every year.

Introducing Slow Living

What is Slow Living?

According to google,

"It is a lifestyle that emphasizes mindful, intentional living at a slower pace.

It focuses on experiences and quality over quantity.

Prioritizing meaningful activities and relationships and appreciating the present moment."

What are the benefits of slow living?

  1. Improves your mental health. It helps you to live in the present reducing your anxiety from worrying about the future. Slowing down also helps you to relax, naturally lowering your stress levels.
  2. Clear Brian Fog. Slow living lets your brain rest so that it can operate more clearly and efficiently.
  3. Helps with decision making. With a clearer brain and the ability to focus better you are more equipped to make easier and better decisions.
  4. Increase your productivity. By slowing down you reduce stress and focus better, which will make you more productive.
  5. Increased mindfulness and presence. taking time to slow down, go for a walk, listen to the birds, watching your kids play will help you to be more present in the moment. Reducing your stress and anxiety.
  6. A greater appreciation for life. By being in the moment more we are able to truly appreciate life and the beauty that surrounds us.
  7. Enhanced creativity. Slowing down can spark new ideas and improve your creativity. If our heads are always thinking about what needs to be done where we need to go we don't give our brains time to think creatively at all.
  8. More time for self care. Slow living will give you more time to focus on things that you enjoy and are important for your self care. Exercise, hobbies and relaxing are great ways to practice self care.
  9. Improved Physical Health. It improves digestion, physical recovery and a more balanced lifestyle.
  10. Improved Relationships. Slow living allows us to spend more time with loved ones, become better listeners (thanks to the enhanced focusing) and build stronger relationships.

How to Live a Slow Life

Simply...Slow Down

Stop over scheduling, say no to over investing in everyone and everything else.

Schedule time to take it slow, to spend time with family and friends, to go for walks, play with your kids, watch the birds, read a book and do hobbies just for you.

Make 2 lists:

1) What a simple life looks like for you

2) What you can say no to, to free up time

This is your life. Don's let it pass you by, because it's true what they say, time flies.

We all have commitments and responsibilities but we have to ask ourselves do we really need to vacuum everyday? Do we really need to work overtime all of the time? Do we need more stuff? Do we need this stress?

NO!

We need to learn how to drown out the voices in our head that say we aren't hustling hard enough and that to be successful we need to make more money, be more busy and hustle, hustle, hustle!

Ugh, that makes me exhausted just typing it.
